There are no plans to abolish the Blue Badge fee which allows local authorities to recover some of the costs involved with issuing the badge and administering the Scheme. Since 2010 over £240 million has been provided to fund the cleanest buses, and in February 2019 announced the winners of a £48 million scheme which will fund a further 263 zero emission buses.
