On his first visit he was hosted by the Minister of Finance and Economy and focused on opportunities in: oil and gas; financial services; and technical / professional education. Human rights issues are the responsibility of the FCO. The Minister of State for Asia and the Pacific raised UK concerns about hudud punishments during a visit to Brunei Darussalam in August 2018. More recently he raised these issues on Friday 29 March in a letter to the Deputy Foreign Minister. Additionally, the British High Commission in Bandar Seri Begawan regularly discusses the introduction of the Sharia Penal Code with the Government of Brunei.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">The Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Brunei, Paul Scully, did not make representations to the Government of Brunei on their internal laws when he visited in 2018 to promote the trade links between our countries.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">This was the Trade Envoy’s first visit to Brunei in this capacity and as such was introduced to key stakeholders. </ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">He was hosted by the Minister of Finance and Economy and focused on opportunities in: oil and gas; financial services; and technical / professional education. In addition, other money disbursed from the public purse for the purposes of this case was £138,292.14. This figure represents DIT legal costs to date associated with the Special Advocate representing the Appellant in closed proceedings in the Judicial Review.</p><p> </p><p>The figures provided comprise net legal costs, including disbursement costs and these represent the legal cost to DIT. The legal costs provided here do not include figures spent by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Ministry of Defence. The target will end the UK’s contribution to climate change and shows real global leadership ahead of the crucial COP26 talks which we are proud to be holding in Glasgow.</p><p>The UK is a world leader in cutting emissions while creating wealth.  Between 1990 and 2017, the UK reduced its emissions by over 40 per cent while growing the economy by more than two thirds - decarbonising our economy faster than any other G20 country.</p><p>We want the UK to be Africa’s investment partner of choice, and meeting energy needs will be a critical part of unleashing Africa’s potential and powering new industries and jobs.</p><p>That is why we are supporting the energy sector in Africa, with a priority on clean energy. We disagree with the judgment and are seeking permission to appeal.</p><p> </p><p>Extant licences are not immediately affected by this judgment but decisions about these licences are remitted to the Government to reconsider in the light of the judgment. The Campaign Against Arms Trade did not seek an Order to suspend licences and the Court has not ordered their suspension. The licences are valid for two years and cover the following ratings: ML4, ML10, ML11 and ML22.</p><p>Licensing data is provided based on information published as Official Statistics up to September 2019.
