star this property answer text <p>In 2020 the Government established a £385m Advanced Nuclear Fund (ANF) to support the development of Small and Advanced Modular Reactors (SMRs and AMRs).</p><p> </p><p>The ANF includes support for an AMR Research, Development &amp; Demonstration (RD&amp;D) programme which seeks to demonstrate an AMR by the early 2030s to understand the potential of advanced reactors.</p><p> </p><p>The Government decided to focus the AMR RD&amp;D programme on demonstrating High-Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactors (HTGRs). The Government supports the development of all types of advanced nuclear technologies including molten salt reactors as part of wider policy activities, such as access to regulation.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government is pursuing large-scale nuclear whilst also investing in Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and Advanced Modular Reactors (AMRs).</p><p> </p><p>In addition to supporting the construction of Hinkley Point C, the Government has invested £700m into the Sizewell C project – the first state backing for a nuclear project in over 30 years.</p><p> </p><p>The up to £385m Advanced Nuclear Fund is funding SMRs and AMRs. Up to £210m of this is helping to develop the Rolls Royce Small Modular Reactor design. The Fund is also supporting an AMR Research Development &amp; Demonstration competition.</p> more like this

Energy suppliers are responsible for the provision of metering and are required to take all reasonable steps to install a smart meter where a meter is fitted for the first time or when an existing meter needs to be replaced. Energy suppliers are best placed to make decisions on individual circumstances in accordance with customer needs and availability of existing traditional meters.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The proportion of goods exported from the UK to the EU (as a proportion of total UK goods exports) was 50.1% in May 2021. This has increased since the decline in January to 36.9%, and is slightly above the annual proportions for 2018 (49.5%), 2019 (47.4%) and 2020 (48.5%).</p><p> </p><p>The proportion of services exported from the UK to the EU (as a proportion of total UK service exports) was 37.6% in Q1 2021, slightly above the annual proportion for 2020 (36.9%), and below 2019 (38.1%) and 2018 (40.4%).</p><p> </p><p>The Department for International Trade provides a range of services to support businesses to export to the EU, including through the overseas Europe Network, International Trade Advisors and the Transition Period Enquiry Unit.</p> more like this

We advertise events on Event Hub on GREAT.gov.uk and through our international trade advisers who are based across the country, including the North East.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, the North East benefits from participation in the specific DIT Northern Powerhouse (NPH) trade missions programme. The DIT North East team work closely with northern organisations and the UK’s global HMG network to assist companies who are participating in any trade mission, either NPH or national.</p><p> </p><p>We do not intend to place a map of the UK on trade show stands.</p> more like this
