star this property answer text <p>The UK signed the CARIFORUM-UK Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) on Friday 22 March 2019 with nine CARIFORUM states. The remaining <del class="ministerial">5</del><ins class="ministerial">4</ins> states will sign as their domestic processes allow. This will provide continuity in our trading arrangements after the UK leaves the EU.</p><p> </p><p>The UK is currently designing a package of funding to help businesses in the Caribbean to take full advantage of the market access granted by the EPA, recognising that even in the absence of tariffs, a number of barriers remain which may prevent firms from being able to export to the UK.</p> more like this

Under the terms of the Withdrawal Agreement and Political Declaration the UK would have scope to negotiate an ambitious agreement with the US. We would have an independent trade policy covering goods and services and we would be able to set our own tariffs.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has committed to publishing a scoping assessment prior to launching negotiations – presenting the potential economic impacts of a trade deal with the US.”</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Whilst trade data is not published at the constituency level, it is available for the outer London boroughs at the International Territorial Level (ITL) 3. The Romford constituency (along with three other constituencies) sits within the Barking &amp; Dagenham and Havering ITL3 area. This area exported £3.2bn goods and services in 2019 ranking 59<sup>th</sup> out of all 168 GB ITL3 areas and imported £1.9bn, ranking 93<sup>rd</sup>.</p><p> </p><p>The outer London boroughs exported £37.7bn goods and services in 2019, this was 5.5% of total UK exports. star this property answer text <p>Whilst my Department does not hold a central list of all historic missions from UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) as well as DIT, on reviewing available data, we estimate that over the last five years DIT and its predecessor UKTI have delivered in excess of 500 formal overseas trade missions to more than 80 countries. The figure may well be higher, as my Department operates in 108 countries globally, and not all facilitated visits are formally recorded as trade missions.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We are continuing to work with the Southern African Customs Union and Mozambique partner countries, including Lesotho to replicate the effects of the EU’s Economic Partnership Agreement.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, the Taxation (Cross-Border Trade) Act enables the UK to put in place a trade preferences scheme for when we leave the EU. This will grant duty-free, quota-free access to Least Developed Countries, including Lesotho.</p> more like this
