The Scottish Government are funded through the block grant to provide children’s services in Scotland and it is their responsibility to allocate their resources as they see fit.</p><p> </p><p>The Chancellor has regular discussions with Cabinet colleagues on a range of matters. Over £200 billion is available to English councils for local services, including children’s services, up to 2019-20. There will be a real-terms increase in resources available to local government over the next two years. It is for the Scottish Government to determine the allocation of funds from within its own budgets.</p><p> </p><p>The Chancellor of the Exchequer has regular discussions with Cabinet colleagues on a range of matters. The Government will consult on the local government finance settlement for 2019/20 in due course. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/07/2018 answer text <p>As a devolved policy matter, responsibility for management of coastal erosion and flood risk lies with the Devolved Administrations.</p><p> </p><p>Although there is no automatic right to Government compensation for damage from flooding or coastal erosion, we recognise the risk to coastal communities. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/07/2018 answer text <p>Parents cannot claim Universal Credit or tax credits for the same childcare they are using childcare vouchers to fund. However, if a Universal Credit or tax credit claimant requires more childcare than their vouchers pay for, they can claim any additional amounts through Universal Credit or tax credits, provided they meet the eligibility conditions and can provide evidence of payments.</p><p> </p><p>The government has increased the support for working parents on Universal Credit who can now get up to 85% of their childcare costs paid. Parents on tax credits get up to 70% of their childcare costs paid. This means the majority of Universal Credit and tax credits claimants are better off getting help through these schemes than through the childcare voucher scheme.</p><p>Many Universal Credit and tax credits claimants aren’t able to get childcare vouchers as the majority of schemes are run through salary sacrifice.
