star this property answer text <p>The government recognises the immense value of the care provided by non-parental carers and adoptive parents. It is for this reason that we are ensuring that they receive support irrespective of the order in which these children enter their household. Regulations to extend support in Child Tax Credit and Universal Credit were laid in Parliament on 5 November 2018 and came into force on 28 November 2018. star this property answer text <p>HM Treasury continues to work closely with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) to bring these regulations into force as soon as possible. On 25 July, HMRC and DWP consulted with the Social Security Advisory Committee (SSAC) on draft regulations to bring this change into force.
