	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/03/2021 answer text <p>To tackle the digital divide and support connectivity we have worked with providers on social tariffs meaning low cost landline and broadband services for those on means-tested benefits.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>DCMS has also launched the Digital Lifeline fund to provide devices, data and support to 5000 adults with learning disabilities. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/02/2019 answer text <p>The commissioning of health and social care services for children with disabilities is the responsibility of clinical commissioning groups and local authorities respectively. Local commissioners are best placed to assess the needs of the local population and allocate funds accordingly.</p><p> </p><p>In 2014, the Government introduced a new statutory framework requiring local authorities and clinical commissioning groups to commission jointly services for children with special educational needs and disability, across health, social care and education. Since 2014, £327 million has been given to local areas to support implementation of these new arrangements, in addition to the high needs budget for placements for pupils with complex special educational needs which is over £6 billion this year, the highest it has ever been.</p><p> </p><p>The 2015 Spending Review made available more than £200 billion until 2020 for councils to deliver services to local communities, including for provision of social care services for disabled children. The Government is conducting a review of the relative needs and resources of local authorities which will develop a robust, up-to-date approach to distributing funding across all local authorities in England at Local Government Finance Settlements, including for children’s services.</p><p> </p><p>Funding for the National Health Service will grow on average by 3.4% in real terms each year from 2019/20 to 2023/24; by 2023/24 the NHS budget will increase by over £20 billion a year in real terms compared with today.</p> answering member constituency Gosport answering member printed Caroline Dinenage question first answered 18/02/2019 17:55:27 answering member 4008 label Biography information for Dame Caroline Dinenage

	question text	To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, what steps he has taken to support the performing arts sector during the covid-19 outbreak.

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/06/2020 answer text <p>The Government has already announced an unprecedented package of measures in place to provide immediate and vital support to the cultural sector during this pandemic. These include the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, the Self Employment Support Scheme, the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme, business rates relief and cash grants for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>In order to further support the sustainability of the sector, DCMS has worked closely with Arts Council England (ACE) to provide a tailored package of financial support. In March, ACE announced a £160m emergency response package to complement the financial measures already announced by the Government and to ensure immediate resilience of this vital sector.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>£90 million is being made available to National Portfolio Organisations (NPOs) and Creative People and Places (CPPs) lead organisations. £50 million will be made available to organisations that are not in receipt of regular funding from the Arts Council in order to maintain their survival through this crisis. Finally £20 million of financial support is being made available to individuals, so they can better sustain themselves, and their work, in the coming months. DCMS and ACE are continuing to work closely to consider the additional measures that are needed to ensure the long-term recovery and growth of the cultural sector.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Secretary of State, myself and officials continue to consult the Art sector extensively to ensure we fully understand the financial impact of the Covid-19 outbreak on the sector.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>DCMS is engaging with other departments to support the economic response, by ensuring that the needs of its sectors, and those who work in them, are understood.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>DCMS will continue to work with this valuable sector to understand the difficulties it faces and help it access support through these challenging times and through recovery.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Gosport answering member printed Caroline Dinenage question first answered 09/06/2020 21:04:18 answering member 4008 label Biography information for Dame Caroline Dinenage
