NHS England and NHS Improvement now have a comprehensive national programme supporting reductions in inappropriate placements. NHS England agreed new service specifications for gender dysphoria services in 2018 following a process of extensive stakeholder engagement and public consultation.</p><p>In April 2019 NHS England began a process of national procurement that will determine which organisations are best able to deliver specialist gender services in the future against the new service specifications, and this process is open to new providers. Since May 2017 the Government has invested £60 million to support NHS providers to improve their security position, with a further £150 million pledged up until 2021 to improve the NHS’s resilience against attacks.</p><p><br> The Department published its progress report in February 2018 entitled ‘Securing cyber resilience in health and care: progress update’.
