We are aware of reported discussions between the detaining authorities in north-east Syria and the Iraqi authorities about possible transfer of Iraqi nationals for prosecution in Iraqi courts. We are not aware of any such discussions with the Syrian regime. We look to the Chinese authorities to provide comprehensive details of the circumstances surrounding his death. We have not made representations to the Chinese authorities on this specific case.</p><p>We are concerned by reports that a number of human rights defenders have died whilst in prison and allegations that they have been denied access to medical treatment. The blasphemy laws are used against people of all faiths although minority communities are disproportionately affected. Blasphemy laws are used against people of all faiths, although minority communities are disproportionately affected. Our concerns are reflected in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Annual Human Rights Report.</p><p>We regularly make clear our concerns about freedom of religion and belief and the protection of minority communities with the government of Pakistan. We do so at a senior level. During my visit to Pakistan last year, I raised our concerns about the treatment of religious minorities, including discrimination and violence against them, with the Federal Secretary of Pakistan's Ministry of Human Rights.
