We are tracking the use of new psychoactive substances (which captures synthetic cannabinoids such as those in 'spice') though the annual Drug Misuse publication, which found that NPS use in England and Wales has fallen from 0.7 per cent in 2015/16 to 0.4 per cent in 2016/17. The Criminal Finances Act 2017 provides important new powers to improve the asset recovery system, such as unexplained wealth orders, the forfeiture of bank accounts and forfeiture of certain mobile assets. The Government is also implementing the recommendations made in the Public Accounts Committee Report of 2016.
