	question text	To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, with reference to the co-sponsored resolution on Sri Lanka at the 30th Session of the UN Human Rights Council held in October 2015, if he will make representations to the government of Sri Lanka to respect its commitments and allow international prosecutors to investigate allegations of violations of international humanitarian law in that country; and if he will encourage his international counterparts to make similar such representations.

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/01/2017 answer text We welcomed the historic co-sponsorship by Sri Lanka of Resolution 30/1 at the UN Human Rights Council on 1 October 2015 committing it to reconciliation, accountability and the protection of human rights. While Sri Lanka has made progress against the commitments made in the resolution, much remains to be done. The High Commissioner for Human Rights will present his final progress report at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in March 2017. Our long standing position is that Sri Lanka should implement the commitments in Resolution 30/01, including its commitment to accountability. Ministers and senior officials have underlined the importance of Sri Lanka delivering in full on its UNHRC commitments in recent discussions with representatives of the Sri Lankan government and with our international partners. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/01/2017 answer text The Government has repeatedly raised concerns about the plight of the Rohingya community in Burma. I last raised this when I met the Burmese Minister of Construction on 29 November. The Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my noble Friend, the Rt Hon. Baroness Anelay of St Johns DBE also raised our concerns when she visited Burma from 9-12 November. We are particularly concerned for the welfare of the estimated 3,400 children who were suffering from severe acute malnutrition prior to the flare up in violence in Rakhine following the 9 October attacks on the Burmese border posts. We have called on the Government of Burma to resume immediately humanitarian aid and to conduct an independent investigation into allegations of human rights violations. We have not raised these specific cases with the Chinese Government. However, the Foreign Secretary, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (Boris Johnson), raised our concerns about human rights in Tibet with the Chinese Government at the UK-China Strategic Dialogue on 20 December. We also raised our concerns about Tibet and a number of individuals with the Chinese Government at the UK-China Human Rights Dialogue on 27 October. I attended the opening of the dialogue.
