star this property answer text <p>We are currently reviewing the information we provide to women asylum applicants at the point of claim to ensure that they are aware of the external services available to them and of their rights in the asylum process, such as the right to request an interviewer and interpreter of a particular gender. In conjunction with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the Refugee Council and the Scottish Refugee Council, we will shortly begin a pilot to signpost women who may have been the victims of sexual violence to existing support services.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government has committed to resettling 20,000 Syrian Refugees in the lifetime of this Parliament. The Prime Minister has said that we want to see 1,000 brought to the UK by Christmas.</p><p>The Government is working closely with local authorities; international delivery partners and the voluntary sector, putting in place the plans and structures to deliver this and ensuring the system is scaled up in a way that protects the interests of all concerned.</p><p>Details on numbers will be published in the regular quarterly immigration statistics.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The independent Office for National Statistics is clear that overall crime has fallen, with ‘traditional’ crime down by almost 40 per cent since June 2010 according to the Crime Survey for England and Wales.</p><p> </p><p>HMICFRS continue to inspect forces’ accuracy in crime recording and where recommendations are made for improvement we expect action to be taken locally by chief officers.</p> more like this

The Home Office collects and publishes these data at the offence group level, for example, ‘Sexual offences’ or ‘Miscellaneous crimes against society’, broken down by police force area. More detailed information on the location of the arrest are not collected.</p><p>Data on the number of arrests are published in the ‘Police Powers and Procedures, England and Wales’ statistical bulletin. star this property answer text <p>The Home Office does not hold centrally all the information requested.</p><p>The Home Office collects and publishes data on the number of police officers who join the police workforce, as standard direct recruits, broken down by Police Force Area, and the ethnicity of the officer. Data on the ethnicity of standard direct recruits are broken down only into two groups: White or Black and Minority Ethnic.</p><p>Data are published annually in the ‘Police workforce, England and Wales’ statistical bulletins.</p><p>The latest data available, covering joiners up to 2016/17, can be found inthe joiners Open Data Table, which accompanies the main release, here:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/629367/open-data-table-police-workforce-joiners.ods" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/629367/open-data-table-police-workforce-joiners.ods</a></p><p>The Home Office does not collect any data on employment applications made to the police.
