By hitting this target we have shown that we are on track to resettle 20,000 during the life of this parliament. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/09/2015 answer text <p>The Gateway programme demonstrates the UK’s proud tradition of providing protection to refugees; and of the UK’s commitment to supporting UNHCR’s global effort to provide durable solutions to the plight of refugees. Since the first arrivals in March 2004, the UK has resettled over 6,300 refugees under the Gateway programme. The current commitment is to resettle 750 refugees per year, generally those in protracted situations, and has been fully met over the last two years. The Mandate Refugee Scheme is designed to resettle individual refugees from anywhere in the world who have been recognised as refugees by UNHCR, and judged by them to be in need of resettlement; and who have a close family member in the UK who is willing to accommodate them.</p><p>Therefore this scheme has no quota. This data is based on main asylum claimants who made a claim for asylum from 1 October 2010 to 31 December 2014. We aim to decide all straightforward asylum claims within six months. We recognise that asylum cases are often complex and require our full and thorough consideration, meaning that some decisions will take longer than six months. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/10/2015 answer text <p>The Home Office publishes an analysis of applications for whole-year cohorts of asylum seekers to establish the overall success rates following appeal; this is available in Table as_06 (Asylum data table Volume 2) of the quarterly Immigration Statistics release. For the latest years, some cases will still be outstanding. This cohort analysis is therefore not able to provide a complete picture for the latest applications but for most years will provide the most complete description of the outcome for asylum seekers. The analysis of the outcomes of asylum applications are the recorded outcomes of the group (or cohort) of applicants in any one year, at a particular time. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/02/2016 answer text <p>Since the launch of the expanded Syrian Resettlement Scheme last September, we have resettled more than 1000 vulnerable Syrians, around half of whom are children.</p><p>On 28th January the Government announced further initiatives to assist unaccompanied children in the region. The initiatives will complement the very significant existing aid and assistance the UK has given in response to the Syrian conflict and migration crisis; including our existing resettlement programmes.</p><p>As announced last week, the Government will work with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to lead a new initiative to identify and resettle unaccompanied children in the exceptional cases where it is in the child’s best interests to do so.
