star this property answer text <p>On 17<sup>th</sup> April this year, the Advocate General for Scotland and I referred the UK Withdrawal from the European Union (Legal Continuity) (Scotland) Bill to the Supreme Court for a decision on whether the Bill would be within the legislative competence of the Scottish Parliament.</p><p> </p><p>The hearing is due to take place in July 2018 and we are in the process of agreeing a timetable for filing written cases with the Scottish Government in accordance with directions from the Supreme Court.</p><p> </p> more like this

I have today written to the Prime Minister about an exchange of letters between the Prime Minister and the Presidents of the European Council and the European Commission. The Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government's engagement with local authorities on EU exit has included hosting EU Exit roundtables alongside colleagues from the Department for Exiting the European Union in Cornwall and Great Yarmouth. My officials attend regional engagement events facilitated by the Local Government Association. I would encourage local authorities to continue their positive engagement with the Communities and Local Government Select Committee Inquiry ‘Brexit and Local Government’ to complement our own engagement with the sector.</p> more like this
