From within Europe, we will continue to meet our obligations under the Dublin Regulation
and more unaccompanied children will be transferred to the UK under section 67 of
the Immigration Act in the coming months. An announcement will be made in due course
on the total number of children to be transferred to the UK under the Immigration
Act.

From outside of Europe, the Government has committed to resettle up to
3,000 individuals under the Vulnerable Children’s Resettlement Scheme (VCRS) from
the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by the end of this Parliament, the
majority of which will be children. We will also resettle 20,000 Syrians under the
Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme (VPR) over the same period. Around half
of those resettled under the Syrian VPR so far are children. We do not publish the
numbers to be resettled in a given year; whilst we have an internal trajectory, we
will manage the flows based on need and in support of the wellbeing of the people
and communities involved, rather than rushing to meet targets.
