Patients who are not ‘ordinarily resident’ in the United Kingdom and to whom no exemption from charges under the Charging Regulations applies should be directly charged. Clinical commissioning groups are responsible for funding the care of those visitors to the UK who are exempt from charges and those services that are free to all overseas visitors. Data are not collected centrally.
