<p>The UK Government is committed to securing at the Conference of the Parties (COP)
21 in Paris, an ambitious, legally binding global Agreement on climate change with
mitigation commitments from all Parties and a set of rules that ensure transparency
and accountability of commitments that will allow the world to track progress.</p><p>My
right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, is working
closely with her international counterparts to pave the way for an ambitious deal.
In June, the Prime Minister joined other G7 leaders in calling for an ambitious climate
package to be agreed in Paris. But there remains a lot of work to do. My Ministerial
colleagues and I will take every opportunity to press for an agreement that meets
these objectives.</p>
