The industry code changes to enable to this will come in to force on 6 November and Energy UK members have all committed to offering it by the end of the year. These code changes will also enable more streamlined switching of non-domestic customers.</p><p>The Department is also working with Ofgem to support their proposals for a longer term move to next day switching. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/11/2014 answer text <p>The Climate Change Act established a legally binding target to reduce the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80% below base levels by 2050. The Act introduced a system of carbon budgets which provide legally binding limits on the amount of emissions that may be produced in successive five-year periods, setting the UK on a least cost trajectory to 2050.</p><p>A comprehensive package of policies has been put in place to meet future carbon budgets, which includes reducing the carbon intensity of power generation.</p><p>Electricity market reform (EMR) provides support for all low carbon technologies including nuclear, Carbon Capture Storage and renewables. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/11/2014 answer text <p>Assessing the safety of nuclear stations is a matter for nuclear sites and the independent nuclear regulator, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR).</p><p>Under the terms of its licence, a licensee is required to produce a safety case to demonstrate the continued safe operation of its reactors to the satisfaction of ONR. The licensee at Hunterston B, EDF Energy Nuclear Generation Ltd, notified ONR of the cracking of two graphite bricks in the core of Hunterston B (Reactor 4) on 21 August 2014. The type of cracking identified is termed ‘keyway root cracking’ and it has been considered by the licensee in its safety case. ONR’s technical experts confirmed that the cracks identified were well within the safe limits of operation set within the safety case and that they do not pose an increased risk to the public.
