answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/11/2021 answer text <p>During October the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) was able to focus extra resource on vocational driving licence applications to support the HGV driver shortage. This has been successful with routine vocational applications now back to normal turnaround times.</p><p>The DVLA’s online services are the quickest and easiest way to make an application. There are no delays in successful online applications and customers should receive their documents within a few days. However, many people still choose or have to make a paper application. However, decisions on opening and closing branches are a commercial issue for banks and building societies.</p><p> </p><p>In May 2017, the largest banks and building societies signed up to the Access to Banking Standard which commits them to ensure customers are well informed about branch closures, the bank’s reasons for closure and options for continued access to banking services.</p><p> </p><p>Guidance from the Financial Conduct Authority also sets out its expectation of firms when they are deciding to reduce their physical branches or the number of free-to-use ATMs. Firms are expected to carefully consider the impact of planned branch closures on their customers’ everyday banking and cash access needs and consider possible alternative access arrangements. This ensures the implementation of closure decisions is undertaken in a way that treats customers fairly.</p><p> </p><p>Alternative options for access can be via telephone banking, through digital means such as mobile or online banking and the Post Office. The Post Office Banking Framework allows 95% of business and 99% of personal banking customers to deposit cheques, check their balance and withdraw and deposit cash at 11,500 Post Office branches in the UK.</p><p> </p><p>Furthermore, LINK (the scheme that runs the UK's largest ATM network) has commitments to protect the broad geographic spread of free-to-use ATMs and is held to account against these commitments by the Payment Systems Regulator. The financial services industry is also working with retailers to introduce cashback without a purchase to thousands of local shops following changes to the law by the Government through the Financial Services Act 2021.</p><p> </p><p>The Government also remains committed to legislating to protect access to cash and ensuring that the UK's cash infrastructure is sustainable for the long term. The Government’s Access to Cash Consultation closed on 23 September 2021. This set out proposals for new laws to make sure people only need to travel a reasonable distance to pay in or take out cash. There are no delays in successful online applications and customers should receive their driving licence within a few days. However, many people still choose or have to make a paper application for a driving licence. The latest information on DVLA services and the turnaround times for paper driving licence applications can be found <a href="http://www.gov.uk/guidance/dvla-coronavirus-covid-19-update" target="_blank">here</a>.</p><p>Holders of driving licences that expired between 1 February and 31 December 2020 were given an 11-month extension from the date of expiry. Drivers do not need to renew their photocard or entitlement to drive until 11 months after the original expiry date.</p><p>Most drivers applying to renew their licence can continue driving while their application is being processed. Section 88 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 allows drivers who have sent a valid application to the DVLA to continue driving while waiting for their application to be processed. The information that will be presented to consumers via pensions dashboards, and how it is displayed, will continue to evolve. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/11/2021 answer text <p>The Government takes women’s safety very seriously and is determined to tackle crimes which disproportionately affect women and girls.</p><p>We have published a new Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy and will be publishing a complementary Domestic Abuse Strategy this year. The new strategies will help transform the response to these crimes, from prevention and raising awareness, support to victims and survivors, to ensuring perpetrators are brought to justice.</p><p>As well as this, we are funding a new National Policing Lead for Violence Against Women and Girls – Maggie Blyth, to transform the way policing responds to these crimes.</p><p>We are determined to ensure that women feel safe everywhere - at home, at work, at school, online, or on the streets.
