answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/11/2019 answer text <p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Government and the National Health Service are highly committed to everyone having access to high quality personalised end of life care built around their individual needs and preferences. NHS England has produced a number of resources for commissioners, service providers and health, care and support staff focused on ensuring equality in end of life care. More recently, the publication of the NHS Long Term Plan and associated document, Universal Personalised Care, make clear that the NHS wants to put health inequalities at the core of the personalised care agenda.</p><p> </p><p>As outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan, this will be achieved by working with patients, families, local authorities and our voluntary sector partners both nationally and locally to roll out training to help staff identify and support relevant patients and to introduce proactive and personalised care planning for everyone identified as being in their last year of life.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England and NHS Improvement Specialised Services is currently reviewing its published Specialised Palliative Care Service Specification (published in 2013).</p> answering member constituency Gosport answering member printed Caroline Dinenage question first answered 04/11/2019 18:27:11 answering member 4008 label Biography information for Dame Caroline Dinenage

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/11/2019 answer text <p>In 2016, NHS England published guidance prepared in collaboration with expert reference groups, and led by the National Clinical Director for End of Life Care, in response to requests by commissioners, service providers and clinicians for a clear description of what should be provided in terms of specialist level palliative care for people with progressive, life-limiting illness who have complex needs, and/or those whose usual care teams require the expert advice, guidance and support of those with specialist knowledge and skills in palliative care. The guidance states that ‘arrangements should be in place for specialist support to the wider care team at all times, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The service should have access to all essential specialists to constitute a specialist level palliative care team’. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/10/2019 answer text <p>​For financial year 19/20, a programme fund of £201,401 has been allocated for implementing the Bishop of Truro’s recommendations. Separately, the office of the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy on Freedom of Religion or Belief has been allocated £73,453 this financial year to cover admin and travel costs. Funding for future years, both for the implementation of the recommendations and for the Special Envoy’s office, will be decided at a later stage. We have accepted and are working to deliver all the recommendations contained in the Bishop of Truro’s report.
