answer text <p>The number of pupils attending independent schools in England in each year since 2010 is published in table 1a of the ‘Schools, pupils and their characteristics’ statistical release. This can be found at:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/schools-pupils-and-their-characteristics-january-2019" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/schools-pupils-and-their-characteristics-january-2019</a>.</p><p>Information on the nationality of pupils is not collected and information on children attending schools in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland is the responsibility of the devolved administrations.</p> more like this
