In April 2019, the National Living Wage rate was increased to £8.21 per hour, a rise of 4.9 percent. Over 1.8 million workers benefitted directly from this increase.</p><p> </p><p>Employers in all industries are required by law to ensure that all workers due the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage (NMW) receive it, including for overtime. We take tough action against the minority of employers who underpay the NMW. Since 2015, the Government has doubled HMRC’s enforcement and compliance to £27.4m for 2019/20</p><p> </p><p>Anyone who feels they are being underpaid the NMW should contact Acas (<a href="http://www.acas.org.uk" target="_blank">www.acas.org.uk</a>, 0300 123 1100) for free impartial advice or make a complaint directly to HMRC through their online form.</p><p> </p><p>Employers and employees are free to negotiate terms and conditions that go beyond the requirements set out in legislation. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/06/2019 answer text <p>The Government has fundamentally reformed regulation of the consumer credit market, transferring regulatory responsibility to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) on 1 April 2014.</p><p> </p>Any outstanding complaints against payday loan companies that enter into insolvency are dealt with directly by the administrators of the companies in question. Customers should continue to make any outstanding payments as instructed by the administrators. We are considering these responses and the next steps. We will set out our response to the consultation later this year. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/06/2019 answer text <p>The concept of rewilding has a variety of characteristics and definitions applied to the term. Nature-based solutions are key to tackling climate change and averting its impacts. The Government is deploying such solutions to improve our natural environment.</p><p>The government’s 25 Year Environment Plan sets out key policies on how improving nature can help tackle climate change.</p><p> </p><p>Under the new Environmental Land Management Scheme we will pay public money for the provision of environmental public goods. These public goods will include the mitigation of and adaption to climate change.</p><p>Tree planting is one of the main contributors to nature-based carbon sequestration and the Government supports this in a number of ways. Our manifesto committed to planting 11 million trees by 2022, and in addition a further 1 million trees in our towns and cities, and we also have a long term aspiration to increase woodland cover from 10% to 12% by 2060. To achieve these goals, in the Autumn Budget the Chancellor announced £10 million for an Urban Trees Challenge Fund and £50 million to help plant new woodlands through the Woodland Carbon Guarantee.</p><p>Peatlands are our largest terrestrial carbon store. We have committed to publishing an England Peatland Strategy. The strategy will set out our vision to reverse decline in peatlands and restore them. Work is underway on four large-scale peatland restoration projects across England, to which we have allocated £10 million, and will restore 5,851 ha of degraded peatlands. We are also improving satmarshes.</p><p>Natural England has an ongoing uplands programme with landowners and we will also be setting up a Lowland Agricultural Peatland Taskforce to help sustainably manage and restore peatland habitats. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/05/2019 answer text <p>The UK is committed to the principle of non-discrimination on any grounds, including on the basis of sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Human rights are universal and should apply equally to all people. The Foreign Secretary and I have made that position clear through public and parliamentary statements and in conversations with the Government of Brunei.</p><p>We welcomed assurances provided by The Sultan of Brunei on 5 May regarding the implementation of phase 3 of the Sharia Penal Code. His Majesty confirmed that the de facto moratorium on the death penalty will apply to punishments under the Sharia Penal Code and has committed to ratify the United Nations Convention Against Torture. The assurances provided by the Sultan go some way to addressing our anxieties about the human rights situation in Brunei. We have urged Brunei to build on these assurances and formalise its commitment to respect individual freedoms and minorities.
