answer text <p>The Public Accounts Committee published its report into governance and departmental oversight of the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Local Enterprise Partnership on 16 March 2018. The report made five recommendations, one of which was for the Department to write to the Committee setting out the results of its compliance checks and Annual Conversations and for these results to be published. The Treasury Minute setting out the Department’s response to the Committee’s recommendations will be published by the end of May and will include information on the Department’s plans to publish the findings of its annual assurance process.</p> more like this

answer text <p>NHS England has advised that these data are not collected centrally and is a matter for each clinical commissioning group locally.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England further advises that the National Health Service complaints regulations do not impose timescales for responding to complaints. It is expected that the time allocated to investigate and respond to a complaint should be proportionate to its complexity however it is expected that a response should be received within six months of the date the complaint was received unless agreement for a longer period is received from the complainant.</p> more like this

answer text <p>NHS England has advised that it does not collect information on the average length of time taken by clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) to deal with individual funding requests (IFRs).</p><p> </p><p>IFRs are the responsibility of individual CCGs for the majority of NHS services.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England is also responsible for some IFRs, for example, for specialised services. Further general information about NHS England’s policy on IFRs can be found at the following link:</p><p> </p><p><a href="https://www.england.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/comm-policy-indivdual-funding-requests.pdf" target="_blank">https://www.england.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/comm-policy-indivdual-funding-requests.pdf</a></p><p> </p><p>In relation to IFRs, the document states that, for NHS England directed IFRs:</p><p> </p><p>“The standard period for providing a decision on a funding request is a maximum period of 30 working days from the date of the receipt of a fully completed IFR form to the date the requesting clinician is informed of the outcome (inclusive).”</p>

answer text <p>In the last five years, the Employment Agency Standards (EAS) Inspectorate have investigated six complaints regarding non-compliance with regulation 7 of the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 (as amended), broken down as follows:</p><p> </p><p>Financial Year 17/18: 3</p><p>Financial Year 16/17: 0</p><p>Financial Year 15/16: 0</p><p>Financial Year 14/15: 3</p><p>Financial Year 13/14: 0</p><p> </p><p>For the Financial Year 18/19, there have been no complaints regarding non-compliance with regulation 7 to date. There have been no prosecutions brought by EAS in relation to these investigations.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>EAS seeks to raise awareness about the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Business Regulations (2003), engaging with agencies to ensure compliance with the legislation. As part of this, EAS has carried out over 200 targeted inspections since 2016. EAS continues to handle a high number of complaints about non-payment or with-holding of pay and has helped secure over £1.4m for work seekers since 2008/9.</p>

answer text <p>The Capped Expenditure Process was run as an extension to the 2017/18 planning process aimed at those places that were otherwise unable to live within their means. It was therefore limited to the 2017/18 financial year and so is now in effect concluded. For the 2018/19 planning process it is still essential that all clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) do their utmost to submit a plan to live within their means, and to repay any cumulative historical overspends. Where CCGs are merging as of 1 April 2018 the same rules will apply to the merged entity as applied to the individual entities prior to the merger.</p> more like this

Friend, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, has regular discussions with Ministerial colleagues on a number of issues, including on the issue of tier 2 visas for potential National Health Service staff.</p><p> </p><p>The Government recognises fully the contribution that international doctors working in the NHS make towards delivering the high quality compassionate care we all expect.</p><p> </p><p>But it is important that our immigration system works in the national interest, ensuring that employers look first to the United Kingdom resident labour market before recruiting from overseas.</p><p> </p><p>The Department of Health and Social Care and the Home Office are monitoring the operation of the cap closely to ensure it continues to strike the right balance. The health sector continues to occupy the largest cohort of applications within the tier 2 limit, taking 39% of available places within the cap in 2017/18.</p> more like this
