answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/02/2024 answer text <p>The Government recognises there is more to do to protect all people in our society and the environment from the effects of air pollution. This is why we are taking the significant and wide-ranging action to drive improvements to air quality as set out in our Environmental Improvement Plan 2023.</p><p> </p><p>This action is supported by the Environment Act 2021, which makes sure that local authorities have the necessary powers to tackle emissions collaboratively in their local area to improve air quality. Through the Act we also introduced two new targets for fine particulate matter, the pollutant most damaging to human health, setting a maximum annual mean concentration target and a population exposure reduction target. However, we have stated that we have considerable concerns about this case, which is not helpful in the goal of achieving a sustainable ceasefire. Israel has the right to defend itself against Hamas in line with International Humanitarian Law, as we have said from the outset. To meet the Sustainable Development Goal target, we know we need to do more. A continued focus will be necessary on preventing household food waste, which forms the largest percentage of waste. We continue to support businesses to help citizens buy what they need and use what they buy through supporting WRAP in developing best practice guidance for industry and funding citizen campaigns such as Love Food Hate Waste and Food Waste Action Week. There are no new requirements as a result of the refresh or additional responsibilities for the sector. The guidance reinforces that settings should understand their Prevent duty requirements as part of their wider safeguarding and welfare responsibilities.</p><p>The Prevent duty should not limit academic research but encourage debate, challenge ideas and advance knowledge on contentious topics. The government has legislated to ensure that universities in England are a place where academics, students and visiting speakers can express a diverse range of views without fear of repercussion.</p><p>In the most recent published assessment by the Office for Students (OfS) on the implementation of the Prevent programme in the English higher education sector in 2019, they found no cause for concern that free speech was being undermined by Prevent in external speakers’ policies and their implementation. The Home Office commissioned an independent research agency to conduct in-depth research with frontline staff, particularly those with Prevent-specific responsibilities, across the key sectors of education, healthcare, local authorities, police and prisons &amp; probation, to make sure that the new guidance is as robust as possible. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/01/2024 answer text <p>The NHS Long Term Plan commits to investing £2.3 billion of extra funding a year in expanding and transforming mental health services by March 2024, enabling an extra two million people, including people with bipolar disorder, to be treated by mental health services within the National Health Service.</p><p>Through the NHS Long Term Plan, we are also expanding community mental health services. This includes new integrated community models for adults with severe mental illness including bipolar disorder. These new models are still in the early stages, and will take time to embed nationally, but will give at least 370,000 adults greater choice and control over their care and support them to live well in their communities by March 2024.</p><p>The Department also provided an additional £500 million in 2021/22 to accelerate our expansion plans and help address waiting times for mental health services. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/01/2024 answer text <p>The UK National Screening Committee (UK NSC) is aware of the growing interest in issues related to screening women with dense breast tissue in the National Health Service breast screening programme. In 2019, the UK NSC reviewed the benefit of additional screening with ultrasound after a negative mammography screening, for women with dense breasts. The Committee concluded that there was insufficient evidence to recommend additional screening at that time.</p><p>We are aware of the Breast Screening Risk Adaptive Imaging for Density trial which is investigating the use of supplementary imaging techniques for women within the standard breast screening programme who are found to have radiographically dense breast tissue. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/01/2024 answer text <p>The UK National Screening Committee (UK NSC) is aware of research into the use of three-dimensional (3D) mammography and the growing interest to use artificial intelligence (AI) in the National Health Service breast screening programme.
