answer text <p>Since the announcement in 2015 of the intention to allow local authorities (LAs) to retain 100% of their income from business rates, officials at the Department of Health have held regular discussions on the implications for LA public health funding and services with their counterparts in the Department for Communities and Local Government and with representative bodies. We expect these discussions to continue and have already confirmed that the ring-fenced public health grant for LAs will stay in place for the remainder of 2017/18 and for 2018/19. Any proposed changes to the regulations prescribing particular services or steps will be subject to public consultation.</p> more like this
