answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/02/2018 answer text <p>The Government publishes quarterly reports on the number of smart electricity and gas meters installed in Great Britain as part of its Smart Meters statistics collection: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/smart-meters-statistics" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/smart-meters-statistics</a>.</p><p> </p><p>As of 30 September 2017, there were 3.34 million smart and advanced gas meters operating across homes and businesses in Great Britain by large energy suppliers.</p><p> </p><p>Industry information shows there are now around 450 gas and electricity SMETS2 meters connected to the DCC system. The programme is making good progress and more than 8.6 million smart and advanced meters are operating in Great Britain, as of 30 September 2017.</p><p> </p><p>Energy suppliers are responsible for planning and delivering the roll-out of smart meters, working within the legal framework established by the Government. Energy suppliers’ licence conditions require them to take ‘all reasonable steps’ to roll-out smart meters to all their domestic and small business customers by 31 December 2020. Technology costs have fallen dramatically making solar cheaper than ever before to install, with subsidy-free solar farm proposals now being announced by industry.</p><p> </p><p>Impact assessments<sup> [1, 2]</sup> were published as a result of the closure of the Renewables Obligation to new solar projects and as part of the Periodic Review of the Feed-in-Tariffs. We estimate that there are currently 600,000 families using childcare vouchers.</p><p>Those parents, including those with children aged over 11, will be able to continue to receive vouchers when the scheme closes to new entrants in April 2018, whilst they work for the same employer and that employer continues to offer them. Tax-Free Childcare provides a 25% top-up on money paid into an online account, which parents can use to pay their childcare provider. Parents can receive up to £2,000 per child, per year in Government top-up and there is no lower limit on deposits.</p><p>The introduction of Tax-Free Childcare is an opportunity for all employers to engage with working parents, not just the minority who offer childcare vouchers.
