answer text <p>All occupied service family accommodation and single living accommodation are built to meet national building and fire regulations.</p><p>There are a small number of two and three storey properties with external wall insulation. The specification of the material used has been checked and confirmed as fire resistant.</p><p>For substitute accommodation, it is routine practice that prior to utilisation a contractor assesses the property to ensure it fully meets building and fire regulations.</p><p>In response to the Grenfell fire the Cabinet Office is undertaking a review of the Government estate to review fire safety arrangements. The priority is buildings where people sleep, which have ACM cladding and are over 18 metres high. The Ministry of Defence is taking part in this review.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Decisions to close defence sites are based on an assessment of how best to deliver military capability, rather than on the basis of the impacts on a specific region. We do not make defence decisions to benefit one local economy or industry over another. It is the duty of Government to make sure that the Defence budget is spent wisely, maximising the resources available for the front line and making sure that every pound counts. For sites which are surplus to military requirements the Ministry of Defence will work closely with the Local Authorities and other stakeholders to consider the most appropriate future uses.</p> more like this
