answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/01/2015 answer text <p>We make regular use of national and local media to increase public awareness of the contribution our Reserves make to Defence through both general marketing and highlighting Reserves activity. Recently, for example, we have publicised the support given by Reservists in the operation to counter the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. This helps to increase recognition of the contribution that Reservists make and to demonstrate to potential recruits the range of challenges and opportunities within the Reserves.</p><p>The Army Reserve's updated 'More Than Meets the Eye' campaign starts on 16 January 2015 with a PR launch at Waterloo Station, whilst the Royal Air Force has also developed a Reserves-specific advert.</p><p>Local units also play an important role in promoting Reserve service. The first focused on extending the Levy to offshore operators and received 24 responses. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/12/2014 answer text <p>Since June 2014, Ministers in the Department for Education have received 5 letters and have had one meeting with an MP on the subject of funding for rural schools.The Government recognises the importance of rural schools, many of which are small schools, and the need to maintain access to a local school in rural areas. The Department has enabled local authorities and Schools Forums to support small rural schools by allowing funding to be allocated via a ‘sparsity factor’. Sparsity funding is additional funding given to small schools serving pupils who would have to travel a long distance to any alternative school.</p><p>In addition, the Department has recently made an additional £390 million available to the least fairly funded local authorities through the introduction of minimum funding levels. This does not include the value of any subsidies. The value of UK exports of food, feed and drink is estimated in the Overseas Trade Statistics at the prices paid between traders. The prices at the point of export are considerably higher than the prices at the farm gate because of value added in the wholesaling and manufacturing processes. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/12/2014 answer text <p>Maintaining flood defence assets depends on a combination of capital and revenue funding. This Government is spending £3.2 billion on flood management and defences in this Parliament, which is a real terms increase and half a billion pounds more than in the previous five years.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We have committed a record level £2.3 billion capital funding right up until 2021. This is a real terms average increase in capital investment compared with the current spending review period and the long-term commitments will allow us to get better value for money. We have also provided an extra £70 million of revenue funding for the Environment Agency to maintain its defences: £35 million this year and £35 million next year, on top of the £5 million we had already committed in 2015/16 before the winter storms.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The National Audit Office report ‘Strategic Flood Risk Management’ was considered by the Public Accounts Committee on 24 November.
