answer text
The venture capital trust (VCT) regime was significantly expanded at Budget 2012. VCTs can now invest up to £5 million a year into each qualifying company, and larger companies (with up to 250 employees and £15 million of gross assets) can benefit from the investments.

The government believes that the VCT regime, alongside the other tax-advantaged venture capital schemes, plays a key role in facilitating access to finance for smaller businesses with growth potential. At Budget 2014 the government announced that changes would be made to enable investors to subscribe for VCT shares via nominees, to facilitate a wider range of opportunities to invest in VCTs. The government has also recently consulted on the impact of the recent expansions to the venture capital schemes and is committed to ensuring that the schemes continue to work effectively.

more like this

answer text
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office strongly supports the use of the Performance Platform to improve the quality and transparency of Management Information across government. There are detailed dashboards on four of our services: ‘registering a birth abroad’, ‘registering a death abroad’, ‘certificate to get married abroad’, and ‘document legalisation’. As we move more of our services online we will ensure those new transactions are built in such a way that they too can go onto the performance platform. We are also interested in extending the Performance Platform to cover the non-digital element of our major transactions and intend to scope how that might work in practice.
more like this

answer text
British ministers have engaged regularly with their Nigerian counterparts to convey our expectation that Nigeria’s presidential elections will be free, fair and peaceful. When I met the Nigerian Foreign Minister in September I spoke of the need to strengthen institutions in Nigeria to enhance the democratic process. The UK government continues to support Nigeria in ensuring adequate electoral mechanisms and observation are put in place. This includes through DFID’s Deepening Democracy in Nigeria 2 programme. At £35m over four years, this is the largest bilateral programme supporting democratisation in Nigeria. It has a major focus on working with Nigerian partners to deliver credible and peaceful elections.
more like this

We continue to work closely with the Dutch Public Prosecutor’s Office (OM), which is leading the investigation.

As my Rt Hon Friend the Prime Minister has made clear, the weight of evidence is pointing in one direction: MH17 was shot down by a missile fired by pro-Russian separatists.
