answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/06/2014 answer text <p> </p><p>Well established processes are in place to ensure that members of the Armed Forces posted overseas are able to vote in all those elections for which they are eligible. <br><br>The MOD runs an annual information campaign on Electoral Registration which sets out the options for Armed Forces personnel and their families to register to vote. Where Armed Forces personnel are to be posted overseas they are encouraged to appoint a proxy as this removes any doubt about whether a postal vote can be received and returned in time before polls close. Some personnel prefer to cast their own vote and the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013 has extended the electoral timetable so that Returning Officers are able to send postal ballot papers out earlier than previously allowed. This will give Armed Forces Personnel more time to receive and return their ballots if they have chosen this option. <br><br>The MOD continues to work with the Electoral Commission and the British Forces Post Office, as it has done for previous elections, to ensure that postal ballot papers are identified and quickly processed through the mail system where operationally possible. <br><br>Information about complaints related to an inability to vote whilst overseas for the last ten years is not held centrally.</p> answering member printed Lord Astor of Hever question first answered 26/06/2014 14:07:52 answering member 3428 label Biography information for Lord Astor of Hever

Title numbers are made up of residential properties, commercial properties and areas of land.</p><p /> <p> </p><p /> <p>Price paid entries on the register were introduced on 1 April 1990 and since then 13.4m title numbers have at some point had a price paid entry on the register.</p><p /> <p> </p><p /> <p>From 1 January 1995 Land Registry also recorded information relating to11.8m residential properties sold for full market value. Our High Commissioner to Colombo has met Muslim community representatives to discuss their concerns. The Head of the EU Delegation has raised recent developments with the Sri Lankan Defence Secretary. The EU delegation has released a statement in agreement with EU Heads of Mission in Sri Lanka condemning the violence and have called on the Sri Lankan government to uphold law and order.</p><p>Sri Lankan President Rajapaksa and other senior Sri Lankan Ministers have visited the area affected by violence, and the army and police have been deployed to those areas. President Rajapaksa has also urged restraint and pledged that those responsible for the violence would be held to account. The Equality Act 2010 provides protection from discrimination because of gender reassignment in employment.</p><p> </p><p>In March 2011 the Government published <em>Working for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Equality: Moving Forward</em>; and in December 2011 <em>Advancing transgender equality: a plan for action</em> both of which set out the actions to be taken across Government to enhance equality for transgendered individuals. Actions included the Department for Work and Pensions and Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs improving the experiences of transgender people seeking work. We recognise that a very small number of people consider themselves to be of neither gender. We are not aware that that results in any specific detriment, and it is not Government policy to identify such people for the purpose of issuing non-gender-specific official documents.</p><p>A specific review on gender markings in the British passport was carried out by Her Majesty's Passport Office, which has been placed in the Library of both Houses.
