Officials brought the issue to the attention of Ministers in early December 2011 and have provided further advice at intervals since then.</p><p> </p><p>It would be inappropriate to disclose the options that officials have presented for consideration. Following this survey no detailed assessments were undertaken for owls, as there have been no sightings or evidence of protected birds, or dormice, due to no suitable habitat being identified.</p><p> </p><p>Further detailed studies have been carried out for both crested newts and bats. Results of these surveys showed there was no evidence of crested newts and little evidence of bat activity across Ashchurch. My hon. Friend the Member for Mid Worcestershire (Mr Peter Luff) visited the site in February 2011.
