That is why we have committed to ending rough sleeping for good, with the aim of halving it by 2022.</p><p>Last summer we published the cross-government Rough Sleeping Strategy. This sets out an ambitious £100 million package to help people who sleep rough now, but also puts in place the structures that will end rough sleeping once and for all. The Government has now committed over £1.2 billion to tackle homelessness and rough sleeping over the spending review period.</p><p>We are giving serious consideration to the findings of the report from St Mungo’s and Homeless Link. Housing-related support services are a local government responsibility. To deepen our understanding, we are undertaking a review of housing-related support services in order to build a comprehensive picture of current arrangements and how support and housing fit together.</p><p>We also know that we need to build more social homes, which will help us to achieve our goal of preventing homelessness. The Government has made £9 billion available through the Affordable Homes Programme to March 2022, to deliver 250,000 new affordable homes of a wide range of tenures - including social rent. The expanded programme will provide homes to meet the housing needs of a range of people in different circumstances and different housing markets – building the right homes in the right places.</p><p>We understand the importance of giving local areas security around funding. The Chancellor has said that there will be a spending review this year. Decisions about the future of homelessness funding, along with all other government funding, will be made at this point. Ministers have made clear that homelessness and rough sleeping are a key priority for this Government. We are working with other government departments to assess what more can be done to combat rough sleeping and wider homelessness. This work is being overseen by the Ministerial Rough Sleeping and Homelessness Reduction Taskforce and will be an important part of our preparations for the forthcoming Spending Review.</p><p>While there is more work to be done in this area, there are some positive developments which I would like to point to. For the first time since 2010, the annual rough sleeping statistics saw a decrease in the number of those sleeping rough. Whilst only 2 per cent, this is in the face of average yearly increases of nearly 16 per cent. The annual rough sleeping statistics also showed a 19 per cent decrease in the number of those sleeping rough amongst the 83 local authorities that were part of the first phase of our Rough Sleeping Initiative (RSI) in comparison with 2017. We are currently carrying out an evaluation of the impact of our RSI, that will help to determine what effect our funding has had on reducing numbers of rough sleepers</p><p><br>In its first year, RSI funding provided over 1,750 new bed spaces and 500 staff across the country. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/06/2019 answer text <p>According to the latest data from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council (RBKC), as of 6 June 2019, of the 201 households from Grenfell Tower and Walk that require rehousing, there are currently 14 households in temporary accommodation, and 3 households in emergency accommodation that are have not yet moved into permanent accommodation. Of these 17 households, 7 have not yet accepted an offer of permanent accommodation. <br> <br> RBKC reports that a suitable property has been reserved for each household. We are consulting on proposals to introduce a safety case approach for multi-occupied residential buildings of 18 metres or more. A safety case approach will require that the person responsible for the building will need to demonstrate to a regulator that they understand and are managing the fire and structural risks in their building adequately. Installing a sprinkler system may be one way of managing fire risks.</p><p>We also specifically asked for views on the provision of sprinklers in new buildings when we undertook our recent call for evidence ahead of a technical review of the Building Regulations’ fire safety guidance. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/06/2019 answer text <p>The Government takes the firm view that consumers must be able to easily access clear and transparent information about their accounts with banks and other financial service companies.</p><p> </p><p>UK banks’ and building societies’ treatment of their customers is governed by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in its Principles for Businesses. This includes a general requirement for firms to provide a prompt, efficient and fair service to all of their customers. The FCA’s Handbook requires firms to identify particularly vulnerable customers, and to deal with such customers appropriately. This includes older people, the disabled, and those who do not have access to the internet. If a customer does not have access to the internet, then the FCA would expect the customer’s bank to provide or make available paper statements to them instead.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Under changes to the Payment Services Regulations (PSRs) which came into force 13 January 2018 and govern the rules around payment accounts, banks are required to provide their customers with certain information, including a monthly statement (so long as there has been a transaction on the account). answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/06/2019 answer text <p>The DWP and DHSC Joint Work and Health Unit is overseeing progress across 40 recommendations that were made in <em>Thriving at Work: The Stevenson / Farmer review of mental health and employers</em> published in October 2017 these range from short term deliverables to longer term reform. Government is committed to working with the authors of the review and key stakeholders across the public, private and voluntary sectors to ensure that employers of all sizes act to implement the core and enhanced standards and help them, and their employees, realise the benefits of healthy, inclusive workplaces.</p><p>One of the review’s recommendations was about transparency as a significant opportunity to encourage cultural change around mental health. We have worked with partners, including employers, to develop a framework to support organisations to record and voluntarily report information on disability and mental health in the workplace. This framework was published on 22<sup>nd</sup> November 2018 and is aimed at large employers with 250 or more employees. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/06/2019 answer text <p>Government officials worked closely with Returning Officers and the Electoral Commission and<br>other agencies such as the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE) and the<br>Association of Electoral Administrators (AEA) to support the smooth running of the polls on 23<br>May</p><p>Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) are under a statutory duty to ensure people who are eligible<br>to vote in elections have the opportunity to do so. For the recent European Parliamentary elections<br>that included making sure relevant citizens of the EU who are resident in the UK and registered to<br>vote in local elections were made aware they needed to complete a voter registration and<br>declaration form (commonly referred to as a UC1 or EC6 form) in order to enable them to vote</p><p>The Electoral Commission supported EROs in the discharge of this function and encouraged them<br>to take additional steps to raise awareness of this requirement locally, through social media<br>channels and other means.</p><p>The Electoral Commission supported EROs in the discharge of this function.
