answer text <p>The new HM Coastguard national network currently consists of the National Maritime Operations Centre and the Coastguard Operations Centre (CGOC) in Falmouth. They can provide cover for each other in the event of either site not being available.</p><p> </p><p>The level of resilience will increase as more centres transition into the national network. answer text <p>On the night watch of 1 December there were three staff at Falmouth, comprising two Senior Maritime Operations Officers and one Watch Officer.</p><p> </p><p>The Maritime Operations Controller was also called into the night watch as contingency for any hand over of operations from the National Maritime Operations Centre (NMOC). This was due to a gas leak in a road near to the NMOC. However no handover was required.</p><p> </p><p>This process was handled in accordance with rehearsed business continuity plans and is an example of the excellent level of resilience within the new HM Coastguard network.</p> more like this

answer text <p>As at 1 November 2014 50% of Coastguards employed at the National Maritime Operations Centre (NMOC) in Fareham have currently (a) received the amount of training and (b) attained the level of qualification that will be required in order to carry out their duties when the centre takes on its full operational responsibilities in December 2015.</p><p> </p><p>The Maritime and Coastguard Agency anticipates all staff currently employed at the NMOC to have received the training and qualifications required to carry such duties by December 2015.</p><p> </p><p>All Coastguards currently undertaking watch keeping duties at the NMOC have received the amount of training and level of qualification required for the duties they are currently required to undertake at this point in the transition programme.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The average number of staff working the night shift at the National Maritime Operations Centre (NMOC) in Fareham in the period October to November 2014 was six.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>It should be noted that due to the flexibility offered by the new National Network the NMOC and Coastguard Operations Centres (CGOC) do not have fixed geographic boundaries. Workload is managed at the network rather than individual centre level as is the case with Maritime Rescue Coordination Centres (MRCC).
