answer text
Of the estimated 16,500 ARAP eligible individuals to which we owe debt of grattitude, we have relocated 11,437 individuals. This figure includes principals and dependants. Data fidelity does not allow for this figure to be broken down by ARAP categories or professions.

We continue to receive a high number of applications, however the majority of these are duplicates or are ineligible. We are now actively processing and issuing decisions on more applications per month than we are receiving, allowing us to make progress on clearing the backlog.

Our primary focus is on identifying and relocating the estimated remaining 5,300 eligible individuals, using HMG employment records to target our efforts. Significant progress has been made to accelerate the process in recent months, including additional Defence resource being made available and an enhanced casework system.
more like this

answer text
This Government is firmly committed to the UK’s shipbuilding enterprise. In my role as Shipbuilding Tsar, and chair of the Shipbuilding Inter-Ministerial Group, I regularly discuss with my Cabinet colleagues how we can put in place the conditions for success in the sector.

The Fleet Solid Support (FSS) ship programme seeks to maximise the social value contribution shipbuilding can make in the UK, including encouraging investment in domestic shipyards, whilst balancing the need to deliver value for money. As stated previously, the final contract for the manufacture of the FSS ships will be awarded to a UK business, either solely or as part of a consortium. I would like to reiterate that a significant proportion of the build work will be carried out in the UK: the entire final assembly of the ship will take place in a UK shipyard and that FSS is an exciting opportunity for UK workers.

more like this

answer text
In response to high fuel prices, HM Government announced during Spring Statement 2022 a temporary 12-month cut to duty on petrol and diesel of 5p per litre, and a proportionate percentage cut for rebated fuels. This represents a tax cut for households and businesses worth around £2.4 billion in 2022-23. The entitlement to use red diesel was removed from most sectors in April 2022 under reforms to the 2020 Budget. However, the agriculture sector can continue to use red diesel. Those entitled to use red diesel currently pay a duty rate of only 10.18 pence per litre, which is significantly less than those using standard road fuel diesel, which has a duty rate of 52.95 pence per litre. As with all taxes, HM Government keeps the entitlement use to red diesel under review.
more like this
