answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/06/2020 answer text <p>The Foreign and Commonwealth Office is working around the clock, through our Posts overseas and in London, to make sure all British people who need help are receiving the support and information they need. We have brought home over 32,000 people on 153 flights organised by the Foreign Office from 29 countries and territories. As of 19 May, we have brought home over 14,900 people from 11 locations in India on over 64 charter flights.</p><p>While there are currently no further flights scheduled, we will keep this under review and continue to assess both demand for flights and the situation in India. Following the completion of the latest phase of flights on May 15, our consular teams are supporting British travellers who have not been able to fly for a range of reasons.</p><p>We are seeking to help vulnerable non-British UK residents with indefinite leave to remain (ILR) where possible. This goes beyond what we usually do, since our consular assistance is for UK nationals. However, recognising the exceptional challenge of COVID-19 and that many people who call the UK home want to get back, we are seeking to help vulnerable people with ILR wherever possible so long as they have lived in the UK within the last year.</p><p>The Indian Government has announced that British travellers in India wishing to return to the UK will also be able to book seats on their outbound flights from India to the UK being utilised to repatriate people back to India. This judgment found two aspects of the disclosure and barring regime disproportionate. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/05/2020 answer text <p>People aged 70 and over are at higher risk of severe illness if they catch the virus and are considered to be clinically vulnerable. Our advice for people aged 70 and over is to practice stringent social distancing to minimise contact with others outside their household, but not to shield unless advised by their general practitioner (GP) or clinician.</p><p>Only those who are considered to be clinically extremely vulnerable are advised to shield. In response to Covid-19 we have established an alternative service to our usual face to face offer. People will be able to access redundancy help and job search advice on the Department’s new Job Help campaign website (<a href="http://www.jobhelp.dwp.gov.uk" target="_blank">www.jobhelp.dwp.gov.uk</a>). There’s also information on gov.uk and updated information packs provided to employers to help them signpost employees to the support that is available. The support includes:</p><p> </p><ul><li>Connecting people to jobs in the labour market</li><li>Helping with job search including CV writing, interview skills, where to find jobs and how to apply for them</li><li>Helping to identify transferable skills and skills gaps (linked to the local labour market)</li><li>Advising what benefits they may get and how to claim</li></ul><p> </p><p>The Rapid Response Service is co-ordinated nationally by the National Employer and Partnership Team (NEPT) and managed by Jobcentre Plus. Delivery partners include the National Careers Service, local training providers, employers, HMRC, Money Advice Service and the skills bodies in England.</p><p> </p><p>These services are offered by equivalents in the Devolved Administrations PACE (Scotland) and ReAct (Wales). answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/05/2020 answer text <p>The Government recognises the challenging times facing the aviation sector as a result of COVID-19 and the Chancellor wrote to the aviation sector on 24 March to set out the Government’s position and the support measures available. The Government has announced an unprecedented package of support for workers and businesses to protect against the current economic emergency.</p><p> </p><p>This includes the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, which help firms to retain employees. This Scheme allows businesses to put employees on temporary leave, with the Government paying cash grants of 80% of their wages up to a cap of £2,500 per month, providing the business keeps the person employed. On 12 May, the Government announced a major extension to the CJRS which will continue to the end of October, including more flexibility and employer contributions from August as people return to work.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is prepared to enter negotiations with individual companies seeking bespoke support as a last resort, having exhausted other options. However further taxpayer support would only be possible if all commercial avenues have been fully explored, including raising further capital from existing investors and discussing arrangements with financial stakeholders. Friends, the Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer have made clear, the government will do whatever it takes to support people affected by COVID-19.</p><p>During this period, we are asking schools to support children who are eligible for and claiming benefits-related free school meals, by providing meals or food parcels through their existing food providers wherever possible. However, we recognise that food parcel arrangements may not always be possible and so at the end of March we launched a national voucher scheme as an alternative option. This provides schools with additional flexibility to decide what is best for families in their schools.</p><p>Schools are best placed to determine the most appropriate and accessible local arrangements for their eligible pupils. We understand that alternative approaches to the national voucher scheme, such as providing food parcels or purchasing vouchers for local shops not in the national scheme, may mean that schools incur additional costs. We have published guidance on the financial support available for schools who incur these additional costs in this way. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/05/2020 answer text <p>The Government has committed over £100 million to support vulnerable and disadvantaged children in England to access remote education, including by providing laptops, tablets and 4G routers.</p><p>The Department is providing laptops and tablets to vulnerable and disadvantaged children who would otherwise not have access and are preparing for examination in Year 10, are receiving support from a social worker or are a care leaver. The Department has ordered over 200,000 laptops and tablets and is working to provide these devices in the shortest possible timeframe.</p><p>To support the hard work of schools in delivering remote education, 40 teachers have come together to develop the brand-new Oak National Academy, launched on Monday 20 April. Oak Academy provides 180 video lessons for free each week, across a broad range of subjects, for every year group from Reception through to Year 10.</p><p>Schools and families will also be able to draw on support from the BBC which is broadcasting lessons on television. Some of the BBC educational content is offline, via the red button, which disadvantaged pupils without digital devices or connectivity will still be able to access.</p><p>Schools may also choose to draw on the many resources offers which have been made by publishers across the country. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/05/2020 answer text <p>The Department has provided a range of information, guidance and support for teachers and leaders on educating children during the COVID-19 outbreak, which is available here:<em><br> </em><a href="https://www.gov.uk/guidance/remote-education-during-coronavirus-covid-19" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/guidance/remote-education-during-coronavirus-covid-19</a>.</p><p>As well as recommended resources, it includes approaches and case studies for teachers to help them adapt their curriculum and teaching practices for remote education, and keep pupils motivated and engaged.</p><p>To enable all children to continue learning whilst at home, the Department will provide digital devices and internet access for some disadvantaged children and young people who do not currently have access to them from other sources.</p><p>The Department has asked schools to prepare to welcome back more children from 1 June at the earliest. We want to get children and young people back into education as soon as the scientific advice allows because it is the best place for them to learn, and because we know how important it is for their mental wellbeing to be back with their friends and teachers. The United Kingdom Government and devolved administrations have published clear guidance on appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for health and social care workers in different settings online at the following link:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-infection-prevention-and-control/covid-19-personal-protective-equipment-ppe" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-infection-prevention-and-control/covid-19-personal-protective-equipment-ppe</a></p><p>Having begun with a supply chain designed to accommodate delivery to 226 National Health Service trusts, we are now providing essential PPE supplies to 58,000 different settings, including care homes, hospices and community care organisations.</p><p>Since 25 February, we have delivered over 2.4 billion items of PPE across the health and social care system within England.
