The government has reached agreement with the EU on an extension until October 31<sup>st</sup> at the latest, with the option to leave earlier as soon as a deal is ratified. However, “No Deal” remains the legal default at the end of the extension period if a deal cannot be reached. As a responsible government we have been preparing for this possibility for almost three years to minimise any disruption in the event of no deal. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/07/2019 answer text <p>Health Education England (HEE)’s technology enhanced learning (TEL) Programme has developed a national framework for the delivery of simulation-based education. This framework is now in place and being applied across the country.</p><p>Part of this work has involved extensive stakeholder engagement and through this engagement, a number of examples of where virtual reality has successfully been used to support learning have emerged. In particular, HEE East of England is piloting facilitated virtual reality learning for 1,200 Foundation Programme trainee doctors in 20 critical emergency scenarios in the East of England. This enables real time practice in a safe simulated environment with both facilitated supervised training and also personal unlimited access. A careful evaluation will be carried out, looking at both the trainee experience of learning through virtual reality and their subsequent improvement in confidence in urgent care management.</p><p>In addition, the TEL Programme has supported the development of a virtual reality lab in Torbay, which is now in its second year. Successful examples of virtual reality in distraction therapy have emerged, particularly in paediatrics and podiatry, with clear benefits to patients undergoing the clinical intervention and costs savings because of the reduction in general anaesthetics.</p><p>The TEL Programme has now set up an academic partnership with Leeds Institute and through this partnership, will be developing a set of principles for the use of virtual reality in education and training. As set out in the Online Harms White Paper the government will take action to tackle content or activity that harms users, particularly children.</p><p> </p><p>Companies will be required to take robust action to address harmful content, including self-harm content which encourages eating disorders. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/07/2019 answer text <p>We want to ensure our young people have the skills they need to do the well-paid, high-skilled jobs of the future.</p><p> </p><p>We are introducing T levels which will offer a high quality and rigorous technical alternative to academic education, backed by an extra half a billion pounds a year once they are fully up and running, and we are establishing National Colleges and Institutes of Technology to meet higher level technical skills needs.</p><p> </p><p>The Government’s careers strategy, published in December 2017, is an ambitious blueprint for careers guidance for young people and adults. It sets out how the worlds of work and education can come together to support young people, backing the expansion of the Enterprise Adviser Network of senior business volunteers.</p><p> </p><p>This year, funding available for apprenticeships is over £2.5 billion; supporting employers to create apprenticeships for people of all ages, including young people leaving school. There are now over 470 high-quality apprenticeship standards to choose from.</p><p> </p><p>The UK labour market continues to perform strongly, with record levels of employment and record lows in unemployment. Friend, the Secretary of State for Education, launched the attached Education Technology Strategy, ‘Realising the potential of technology in education’. This was launched to support the education sector in England to use and embed technology effectively, and to develop a vibrant EdTech business sector in the UK.</p><p>Research informing the Strategy highlighted that technology has the potential to reduce teacher workload, create savings, and improve pupil and student outcomes. However, certain conditions need to be in place to maximise benefit; for example, good connectivity and infrastructure, teacher confidence in using technology, strong and supportive leadership, and awareness that technology supplements rather than replaces good teaching.</p><p>To further understand the impact technology can have on the education sector, the department is developing a testbed programme which will help build the evidence base on the use of technology within schools and colleges. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/07/2019 answer text <p>Front line police officers in England and Wales</p><p>Each Chief Constable has a duty to manage and support their workforce effectively, ensuring the welfare of all officers and staff. It is therefore for Chief Constables to determine the appropriate wellbeing and occupational health provision within their police forces, including access to counselling.</p><p>The Government takes the issue of police welfare very seriously and has invested in programmes which offer help directly to officers and staff. In July 2017 the Home Office awarded £7.5 million from the Police Transformation Fund to the College of Policing over three years to pilot and, if these pilots were successful, roll out a dedicated national service to help provide enhanced welfare support to serving police officers and staff.</p><p>Following two years of development and piloting, the National Police Wellbeing Service (NPWS) was launched in April 2019.
