While it reduces the time required for religious groups to obtain official recognition it still retains many of the burdensome restrictions from previous Laws.</p><p>We raise our concerns about human rights on a regular basis with the Vietnamese government both bilaterally and through multilateral fora. At the most recent UK-Vietnam Strategic dialogue between 4 abd 6 January 2018, I raised concerns regarding the strict control of civil and political rights in Vietnam, including freedom of expression and assembly, and the need for the Vietnamese government to create space for civil society. Freedom of religion and belief was included on the agenda at the recent EU-Vietnam Human Rights Dialogue which took place in December 2017. UK bilateral aid is already supporting 25,800 children with lifesaving assistance. We recently announced the new allocation of £175 million for humanitarian support over the next five years (2017-2022) for DRC. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/11/2017 answer text <p>DFID tackles malaria through bilateral programmes in countries, research, multilateral funding to the Global Fund and the World Health Organisation, and through activities such as strengthening health systems in endemic countries.</p><p>The Malaria Framework for Results estimated UK spend at £428 million for 2014/15. This was the final year of the Framework and no estimate of comparable spend was produced for 2015/16. All direct bilateral malaria spend and relevant multilateral contributions are available in <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/statistics-on-international-development-2017" target="_blank">Statistics on International Development</a> . Its use for disaster relief in the Caribbean was intended to supplement the capability of RFA MOUNTS BAY, which was prepositioned in the Caribbean for hurricane season and is better suited to Humanitarian and Disaster Relief operations and responded to the situation in Anguilla less than 24 hours after Hurricane Irma struck. Plans for the use of Defence assets for future disaster relief operations remain under constant reviews across Government. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/11/2017 answer text <p>​Nepal was elected to the UN Human Rights Council on 16 October. This is an important opportunity for Nepal to demonstrate its commitment to fundamental freedoms and human rights in Nepal.</p><p>Since then, on 26 October, I led a debate in the House of Commons on freedom of religion and belief, during which human rights in Nepal were raised. I subsequently wrote to the Prime Minister of Nepal expressing concerns over the recently passed Criminal Code. I have also raised this matter with the Nepali Ambassador in London, and our Ambassador in Nepal discussed this in early October with the Nepali Prime Minister. There are many positive elements in the Code, including criminalising torture, enforced disappearances, forced labour and slavery. However, some wording could be open to misinterpretation and potentially prevent legitimate expression of religion or belief for fear of prosecution.
