answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/12/2017 answer text <p>Consular staff in India were made aware of allegations of mistreatment through Mr Johal's legal representation. Our priority is to inquire about these specific allegations with Mr Johal in private. We take all allegations of torture of mistreatment extremely seriously and we will press for action appropriate to the situation, with the consent of the individual, avoiding any action that may put the individual concerned at risk. The Foreign Secretary raised the case with the Indian Minister of External Affairs on 23 November and Consular officials continue to reiterate our request for a private meeting with Mr Johal with the Indian Government. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/12/2017 answer text <p>As the Chancellor set out in the Autumn Budget, the Homes and Community Agency will expand to become Homes England. This will bring together money, expertise, and planning and compulsory purchase powers, Homes England will have a clear remit to facilitate delivery of sufficient new homes, where they are most needed, to deliver a sustained improvement in affordability.</p><p>Homes England will have access to a number of planning powers. The Budget statement signalled a new role for an expanded, more assertive Homes England. Homes England will use its money, expertise and available powers, where necessary, to intervene in local markets to get more homes built. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/12/2017 answer text <p>The government undertook the last fundamental review of business rates in 2016 and announced major reforms worth approx. £9bn to businesses by the end of the parliament. At Autumn Budget 2017, the government delivered more support on business rates including businesses’ top priorities to bring forward the switch to CPI indexation, revalue properties more frequently and to address the staircase tax. As a next step, the government is also reviewing the wider taxation of the digital economy. Officials from the Department have regular discussions with HMRC regarding importation of counterfeit goods.
