answer text <p>The Government has no current plans to introduce such legislation. In Greater London, parking on the pavement is already prohibited by default. In England outside London, local authorities may use Traffic Regulation Orders to restrict pavement parking where appropriate. In addition, the police have powers to issue fines for the criminal offences of obstruction and dangerous driving.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government committed in its manifesto to retain the First Past the Post system for Parliamentary elections.</p><p>The Government’s view is that the First Past the Post system is well-established here. In each constituency, candidates are elected to represent the views of their constituents and in each case a candidate for whom more people voted than for any of the alternatives is elected. The current system also provides a clear and well-understood link between constituents and their representative in Parliament.</p><p>The Government does not, therefore, have plans to change the voting system at the present time.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Winter preparedness planning including maximising uptake of flu immunisation is key to reducing the number of accident and emergency department admissions for all respiratory conditions.</p><p> </p><p>Seasonal influenza surveillance arrangements are in place to monitor influenza throughout the year. These systems look to determine the level of influenza-like illness in the community and provide this information to relevant organisations and government departments. This information informs public health recommendations to clinicians, such as the use of antivirals in primary care and the management of seasonal influenza on respiratory health.</p><p> </p><p>Regarding chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), NHS England is launching a COPD Pathway for clinical commissioning groups in December with a specific focus on improving anticipatory care in order to reduce the need for hospital admissions.</p> more like this

answer text <p>We recognise that it is crucial that the police have the right resources, capabilities and powers to keep the public safe. We have provided millions of pounds of extra investment through the Police Transformation Fund to transform policing to respond to changing crimes and threats including crimes against vulnerable people such as child sexual abuse.</p><p> </p><p>The 2015 Spending Review protected overall police spending in real terms. We are undertaking a programme of engagement with the police to understand the impact of changing demands<strong>, </strong>and to hear how the police are managing these.
