answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/03/2014 answer text <p>The Coalition Government takes the illegal wildlife trade very seriously.</p><p> </p><p>The Home Office will continue to work with other departments to ensure that the Government delivers on the UK Commitment to Action on the Illegal Wildlife Trade.</p><p> </p><p>Border Force will continue to play a lead role for the UK in respect of the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species, delivering risk based anti-smuggling controls at the border in line with agreed national priorities and taking account of latest available intelligence.</p><p> </p><p>The Home Office is also providing specific funding of £136,000 for the National Wildlife Crime Unit in each of the next two financial years to ensure that the Unit can continue its important work, including as the UK focal point for international police cooperation on all wildlife crime related matters, such as initiatives on the illegal wildlife trade.</p><p> </p><p>Border Force and the National Wildlife Crime Unit will consider specific requests to provide practical assistance and training to help tackle the illegal wildlife trade.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> answering member constituency Lewes answering member printed Norman Baker question first answered 26/03/2014 12:00:00 answering member 28 label Biography information for Norman Baker

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/03/2014 answer text <p>The number of defendants proceeded against and found guilty of triable either way offences under the Control of Trade in Endangered Species Regulation 1997, together with Intentionally obstruct an authorised person acting in accordance with the powers conferred by Regulation, under Section 9(6) of the regulations, in England and Wales from 2011 to 2012 can be viewed in the table. Please note data for the triable either way offences prior to 2011, together with a large quantity of other offences to this day are kept on paper records which would require manual inspection. Schools make their own decisions on what training their staff need to support their pupils, based on the individual circumstances of the school.</p><p>The Department for Education funds the Autism Education Trust (AET) to provide tiered training on autism: basic awareness training for teaching and non-teaching staff at level 1; practical knowledge and hands-on tools and techniques for all staff working directly with children and young people with autistic spectrum disorders at level 2; and level 3 training for those seeking more advanced knowledge and those pursuing a training role, such as lead practitioners in autism and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators.
