The system is locally managed by Nexus and the relevant local authorities, who are responsible for identifying opportunities to extend and improve the system, but the Department has not yet been asked to consider any specific proposals. These policies should be informed by evidence on infrastructure need and cost and viability assessments. A proportion of this investment will be used to drive the participation of girls’ cricket, for example developing flexible cricket formats to strengthen the pathway from absolute beginner through to performance level, and investing in coaching, officiating and sports science &amp; medicine.</p><p> </p><p>It is important that girls have access to the right sporting opportunities, both in and out of school.
