answer text <p>The Inclusive Transport Strategy, which was published in July 2018, sets out the action the Department is taking to improve access to transport for disabled people, including to the rail network. This includes working with industry partners to improve the Passenger Assist scheme through which disabled passengers can book the assistance they need, and the provision of information about accessibility to enable better journey planning.</p><p> </p><p>All operators are required as a licence condition to have a Disabled People’s Protection Policy in place, which sets out how disabled people can seek assistance on board and at stations.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>With growing passenger numbers, the Department has been clear that it wants to see more customer-facing staff on the railways, not fewer. For example, there are now more on-train staff on Southern and South Western Railways and their modernisation plans will mean more staff to assist passengers on trains. Regarding off-train staff, the number of staff employed at stations in Hampshire has increased by nearly 10% since 2010.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, train and station operators are required as a condition of their licence to take part in the Passenger Assist scheme through which disabled passengers can book the assistance they need.</p><p> </p><p>We believe that train operators themselves are best placed to determine how staff are deployed to best meet the needs of their passengers.</p> more like this

As such, officials and Ministers regularly engage with disabled people and organisations representing disabled people to discuss making the railways more accessible.</p><p> </p><p>This includes, for example, the Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee, who are statutory independent advisors to the Government; extensive engagement with disabled people and disability organisations in the development and delivery of the Inclusive Transport Strategy; and the Inclusive Transport Stakeholder Group, which brings together the expertise of representative bodies to act as a sounding board for the Department on inclusive travel policy.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) published the findings of its review of Whirlpool’s tumble dryer modification programme on 4 April. The review found that there is a low risk of harm or injury from lint fires in modified machines.</p><p> </p><p>OPSS has written to Whirlpool setting out the actions it must take, including using more creative ways to reach affected consumers to minimise the risk of faulty machines still being in people’s homes. Whirlpool has 28 days to respond from the date of the letter setting out what further actions it will take. OPSS will hold Whirlpool to account in regard to these requirements.</p> more like this

answer text <p>UK military personnel are tackling Houthi missile attacks through engagement with many countries including Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and other members of the United Nations, bilaterally and through the Headquarters in New York. The UK Defence Attache also accompanied my right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary on his visit to Aden at the beginning of March 2019.</p><p>The UK remains committed to supporting the legitimate security needs of Saudi Arabia and guarding against the danger of regional escalation. However, the UK is not a member of the Saudi-led coalition and we do not have any role in setting coalition policy.</p> more like this

answer text <p>As of March 2019, around 20 military personnel (all of whom are from the RAF) provide routine engineering and generic training support to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) and are seconded to BAE Systems.</p><p>UK military personnel do not provide direct support to RSAF operations in Yemen. They do not prepare aircraft for operations, do not load weapons, and do not get involved in the planning of operational sorties.</p> more like this
