answer text <p>The Government recognises the critical role that post offices play in communities and for small businesses across the UK. This is why the Government committed to safeguard the post office network and protect existing rural services. The overall number of post offices across the UK remains at its most stable in decades with over 11,500 branches thanks to significant Government investment of over £2 billion since 2010.</p><p>While the Government sets the strategic direction for the Post Office, it allows the company the commercial freedom to deliver this strategy as an independent business. The distribution of branches is an operational matter of commercial judgement for Post Office management team. I have therefore asked Paula Vennells, the Group Chief Executive of Post Office Limited, to write to the hon Member on this matter. A copy of her reply will be placed in the Libraries of the House.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government supports the adoption of an International Labour Convention on ending violence and harassment in the work of work. The Government is fully engaged in discussions in the International Labour Organisation on the scope and content of the proposed Convention and as part of that is in regular contact with other states on this issue.</p><p> </p><p>The text of the Convention under negotiation includes formal workers and, if universally ratified, would apply to the world’s poorest workers. The Government’s position on the definitions and scope of the Convention is that it should provide broad coverage, whilst being ratifiable by as large a number of the International Labour Organisation’s membership as possible.</p><p /> more like this

The plan aims to ensure that defence infrastructure and the estate is assessed against the risks presented by our changing climate.</p><p>Initial focus has been on incorporating climate risk as part of overall risk management. answer text <p>The Government is committed to addressing the risks and tackling the effects from climate change.</p><p> </p><p>Climate adaptation is integrated throughout policies and programmes across Government.</p><p> </p><p>As set out in the Climate Change Act 2008, Defra publishes the Climate Change Risk Assessment every five years which highlights the climate risks requiring further action in the UK over the next five years. This is followed by the National Adaptation Programme which provides a common framework under which all Departments work together to demonstrate how the Government will address those risks and increase the nation’s resilience to climate change. The most recent National Adaptation Programme was published in July 2018.</p><p> </p><p>Later this year the Government will publish, with the Met Office, an updated set of UK Climate Projections. This will be a key tool to help the Government, businesses and the public understand the future climate and enable them to make climate-resilient decisions.</p><p> </p><p>The UK has been a leader in this area for more than a decade and will continue being one with clear and strong deliverables.</p><p> </p>
