answer text
As host of the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in April, we ensured that equality issues were raised throughout the week, including at Head of Government and Foreign Minister Level. In her speech to Commonwealth Forums, the Prime Minister expressed regret that discriminatory legislation continues to affect the lives of people across the Commonwealth, criminalising same-sex relations and failing to protect women and girls. The Prime Minister was clear that the UK stands ready to support any Commonwealth member wanting to reform outdated legislation that makes such discrimination possible. We have since announced a £5.6m programme working with civil society organisations to support those countries who might wish to reform discriminatory legislation. As Chair-in-Office of the Commonwealth, the UK will continue to raise the importance of countering all forms of discrimination, including on the basis of gender and sexual orientation.
more like this

answer text
Since 1995, the grant in aid provided by Defra to the National Forest Company (NFC) has facilitated benefits to the environment, economy and communities with an increase in forest cover from 6% in 1991 to nearly 21% in 2018, planting 8.7 million trees and creating more than 7,000 hectares of new habitat. 70% of woodlands have been brought into active management and there has been an increase in the visitor economy of 30% with an economic impact of £428 million each year, supporting more than 5,000 jobs.

A report commissioned by Defra and the NFC (attached) in 2010 calculated a net present value for the National Forest of £721 million between 1991 and 2100. The report estimated that by 2100 the cost-benefit ratio of the National Forest will be 1:4.8 for regeneration, biodiversity, wildlife and non-use values, landscape, recreation, carbon sequestration and timber production. The largest contributor to the benefits is the recreational value. The additional indirect benefits of regeneration, ecosystem services, health, education and social care are not captured in this analysis.

answer text
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) does not have a specific definition of stakeholders that represent users of accounts. However, as explained in the answer I gave to Question HL10458, our aim at every step of policy development is to take account of the views of a wide range of stakeholders, not just those of users of accounts. This ensures that we arrive at a balanced view of policy which takes into account the wider UK public interest.
more like this
