The UK’s recent £1.1billion investment to the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria makes us the second largest donor during the fifth replenishment period. This support will help provide enough lifesaving anti-retroviral therapy for 1.3million people living with HIV.</p><p>DFID tracks our spending on HIV/AIDS using sector codes recommended by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC) reporting system. Sussex police has begun an investigation to establish whether criminal offences have been committed.</p><p> </p><p>G4S has suspended ten officers and is carrying out full investigations. In each affected country:</p><p> </p><ul><li><strong>Bangladesh</strong>: DFID made the first international contribution of £660,000 – the largest contributor after Government of Bangladesh itself -to those affected by the floods, via a consortium of NGOs. This will help over 60,000 people with food, shelter, and water and sanitation.</li><li><strong>Nepal:</strong> DFID has also allocated £400,000 to the Nepal Red Cross Society for water, sanitation, livelihood recovery and health. DFID has also responded through the START Fund global consortia of NGOs, which responds to small and medium emergencies. The multi-donor global START Fund has allocated £325,000.</li><li><strong>India:</strong> The START Fund has allocated £400,000 for India. Amongst their many tasks, these personnel deliver training, which we assess helps develop the Saudi-led Coalition's targeting processes and supports their compliance with International Humanitarian Law.
