answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/11/2015 answer text <p>The provision of urgent care is the responsibility of NHS England, which is currently reviewing nationally urgent and emergency care and proposes a fundamental shift in the way urgent and emergency care services are provided, delivering more care closer to home where clinically appropriate.</p><p>The review is now within its implementation phase. A key aspect of this implementation is the establishment of Urgent and Emergency Care Networks (UECNs).</p><p>NHS England has developed a suite of tools and guidance to support implementation of the review, including advice on the role and establishment of UECNs.</p><br /><p>In the hon. Member’s constituency, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) undertook a two-day unannounced inspection of urgent and emergency services at the Royal Sussex County Hospital during June 2015. The CQC published the report of this inspection on 23 October 2015 and rated urgent and emergency services inadequate at this hospital.</p><br /><p>The CQC expect the Trust to regularly report, in a single and standard approach, the improvements in quality to all stakeholders through the risk summit process.</p><br /><p>Following the CQC report publication, the Trust will take the following actions:</p><p>- Changes to the Emergency Department floor;</p><p>- Improving ward processes;</p><p>- Hospital Rapid Discharge Team will review support packages with patients and their family when they first arrive in the Emergency Department; and</p><p>- The opening of additional beds at the Princess Royal Hospital.</p> answering member constituency Battersea answering member printed Jane Ellison grouped question UIN 14042 question first answered 03/11/2015 16:47:30 answering member 3918 label Biography information for Jane Ellison

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/11/2015 answer text <br /> <br /><p>We are advised by NHS England that Goodwood Court Medical Practice in Hove closed in June 2015 after the Care Quality Commission (CQC) took immediate action to remove the practice’s registration with the regulator. This was in order to protect the safety and welfare of patients following the findings of a CQC inspection at the practice.</p><br /><p>NHS England subsequently agreed an interim contract with doctors from the Charter Medical Centre to ensure ongoing care could be provided to affected patients following the closure of the Goodwood Court practice.</p><br /><p>The current arrangements with Charter Medical Centre, for the care of former Goodwood Court patients, are due to come to an end on 31 March 2016.</p><br /><p>NHS England has recently written to patients and local stakeholders asking for their views which will help to inform future care for patients of Goodwood Court.</p><br /> answering member constituency Ipswich answering member printed Ben Gummer question first answered 03/11/2015 17:49:41 answering member 3988 label Biography information for Ben Gummer

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/11/2015 answer text <p>We are committed to ensuring that everyone will be able to access a general practitioner (GP) appointment in the evenings and on weekends as part of our plan for a 7 day NHS by 2020.</p><br /><p>Through the Prime Minister’s GP Access Fund, 125,000 patients in Brighton and Hove have had access to seven-day primary care through four ‘primary care clusters.’ The local clinical commissioning group are now evaluating this scheme and discussing plans for what to take forward.</p><br /><p>There is also a walk-in centre in central Brighton which is open from 8am to 8pm daily to serve the needs of Brighton and Hove residents. There is no need to be a registered patient with the health centre to use the walk-in service; it is available to everyone in Brighton and Hove. This followed the publication of the UN report and other assessments of need that demonstrated the deterioration of the humanitarian situation.</p><br /><p>This new funding is to key partner agencies operating on the ground including the World Food Programme, UNICEF and NGOs via UN OCHA’s (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) Yemen Humanitarian Pooled Fund. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/11/2015 answer text <p>My officials are in regular contact with the UN’s Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen to discuss the latest humanitarian situation, as well as with the UN Regional Humanitarian Coordinator, the UN Special Envoy on the Yemen crisis for the Emergency Relief Coordinator, heads of agencies and our partners on the ground.</p><br /><p>The Secretary of State for International Development has frequent discussions with the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Stephen O’Brien on the situation in Yemen – the most recent call was on 28 October. On 28 September, the Secretary of State co-chaired an event with him and the Assistant Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to discuss the situation on Yemen with heads of UN agencies and international partners. Ministers have regular meetings with NGO partners to discuss their assessment of the situation. As democratically elected organisations, local authorities are independent from Central Government and are responsible for managing their budgets in line with local priorities. Since 2010, local councils have had more flexibility over how they spend the money they receive from central government. Together with the money raised through council tax and other local sources, they have considerable freedom to work with their residents to decide how best to spend available resources on local priorities. <br> <br>My Department regularly engages with a wide range of partners on homelessness prevention.
