answer text
The law does not allow a driver to hold both a GB and an EU driving licence at the same time. Any driver holding an EU driving licence must surrender it before a GB licence can be issued. This is an important provision which helps prevent the circumvention of the system of driving licence endorsements and disqualification for road traffic offences. There are no plans to amend this provision.

more like this

answer text
No assessment has been made.

Universal Credit is a household benefit. A Universal Credit award is calculated on the basis of the set benefit rate based on individual household circumstances, against any other income the household has available, to ensure fairness of treatment for all claimants. This is a long standing principle of means-tested benefits. Income does not include any Personal Independence Payment the disabled person may be receiving, as it is disregarded in the calculation of Universal Credit.

For Universal Credit claimants with health conditions and disabilities which restrict, wholly or partly, their capability for work, additional financial help is available. Those with limited capability for work (LCW) or limited capability for work related activity (LCWRA) have:

a work allowance, and

in couple claims where one is working, access to help with childcare costs.

Claimants who are determined to have LCWRA are entitled to the award of an additional amount of benefit – the LCWRA addition – which is £343.63 per month (2021-22 rates).

answer text
To provide further support for domiciliary providers, we have extended the Infection Control and Testing Fund by a further £388.3 million until 31 March 2022. Domiciliary care providers are able to access this funding to put in place effective infection prevention and control measures, including supporting testing and increasing vaccine uptake.

We have made available two rounds of the Workforce Recruitment and Retention fund, totalling £462.5 million to support local authorities and care providers recruit and retain care staff. Home care workers will be eligible for the Health and Care Worker visa for a 12-month period and added to the shortage occupation list, making it quicker, cheaper and easier to recruit eligible workers from overseas to fill vital gaps.

The Government has committed to providing free Personal Protective Equipment for their COVID-19 needs until the end of March 2023. To support staff, a bespoke testing supply channel has been set up to enable asymptomatic home carers to access weekly polymerase chain reaction tests to administer at home. Domiciliary care workers have been prioritised for the COVID-19 vaccine and we have made free flu vaccines available to eligible staff.

We are continuously reviewing our guidance to ensure that staff working in domiciliary care are receiving up to date advice to keep them as safe as possible during this time.

answer text
The Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel and Operator Liability) (England) Regulations 2021 and The Health Protection (Notification) Regulations 2010 provide the legal framework for the minimum standards required from private testing providers. This includes meeting the required timetable for testing. For polymerase chain reaction testing, this states that the maximum time for providers to return the test result to the consumer is 48 hours from receipt of the sample at the laboratory. A provider may be removed from GOV.UK on a precautionary basis pending investigation if it is believed to be risking public safety and not meeting the minimum standards.
