answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/11/2021 answer text <p>The UK has a highly resilient food supply chain, as demonstrated throughout the Covid-19 response, and it is well equipped to deal with situations with the potential to cause disruption. Defra has well established ways of working with the industry and across Government to monitor risks that may arise. We do not anticipate disruption to the supply of alcohol this Christmas.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has acted quickly to tackle the challenges to our supply chains, which were brought on by global pressures including the pandemic and the international shortage of HGV drivers.</p><p> </p><p>Some of these Government-led key measures include the Driver and Vehicle Standard Agency’s action to increase HGV tests to 3,000 per week, the introduction of 16-week skills bootcamps to train new and returning drivers and the Department for Transport’s action to streamline HGV testing with a minimised regulatory framework adding around 50,000 more tests to be conducted.</p><p> </p><p>In addition to this, the Transport Secretary relaxed driver hours regulation, allowing more deliveries to be made during unprecedented times of national driver shortage to manage food supply chain bottlenecks. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/11/2021 answer text <p>Prison officers need to be capable of performing specific tasks to a certain standard to ensure their safety and the safety of everyone else, including prisoners and work colleagues.</p><p> </p><p>All prison officers who joined after 1 April 2001 must pass an annual fitness test in order to remain in a prison officer role. Staff who do not meet the annual fitness test standard will be provided with advice and support by a fitness assessor on achieving and maintaining the required fitness level. Following an Occupational Health (OH) referral, management can discuss and consider options for redeployment to roles that don’t require the Prison Officer fitness level.</p><p> </p><p>There are many factors which determine a person’s ability to pass a fitness test which are often not determined by age, sex or gender alone. No adjustment to the fitness test is made based on age, sex or gender because they are not the determining factor on passing the test and fitness levels between employees of either sex or gender at all ages can vary. The British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has been working with the Malaysian Government, manufacturers and industry bodies, civil society and the National Human Rights Commission to improve labour conditions and build capacity on social compliance auditing.</p><p>During her visit to Malaysia on 8 November, the Foreign Secretary and her counterpart, Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin, agreed to launch a UK - Malaysia Strategic Dialogue. On 26 March 2020 we became the first country to publish a Government Modern Slavery Statement setting out the steps we have taken to prevent modern slavery and incentivise responsible business conduct in our supply chains. This Government is committed to ensuring that our trade policy is consistent with our international obligations. Following their announcement, the US issued a statement reflecting our ongoing discussions with each other on this issue and committing to resume talks with the UK. In preparation, we continue to work closely with the steel and aluminium industries to understand the implications of the US-EU deal. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/10/2021 answer text <p>Senior care workers were added to the Shortage Occupation List (SOL) in April 2021, joining other key health and care occupations such as nurses, occupational therapists and social workers. Yet we do not believe it would be appropriate to create an immigration route which gives social care employers an opportunity to recruit at or near the minimum wage, with no work based training requirements, as an alternative to offering the type of rewarding packages which will attract UK based workers.</p><p>In July, I commissioned the MAC to review the impact of ending free movement on the social care sector.
