answer text <p>Through the Rapid Response Facility (RRF), the UK has allocated £18 million to provide humanitarian assistance to some of the world's most vulnerable people during the COVID-19 crisis. This funding has been allocated to Action Against Hunger, CARE, Christian Aid, GOAL, Humanity &amp; Inclusion and Norwegian Refugee Council. answer text <p>UK Aid Direct Round 5 comprises two parts: rapid access funding open to existing UK Aid Direct grant holders able to respond immediately to the impacts of COVID-19; and a standard competitive funding round open to new proposals to address the longer-term impacts.</p><p>45 existing grant holders applied for rapid access funding. 33 were successful and are in the process of signing Accountable Grant amendments. £272,477 has been disbursed to date.</p><p>The standard part of Round 5 closed for concept note applications on 30 June 2020. In total, 649 eligible applications were received and 82 civil society organisations have been invited to submit a full application by 22 September 2020. Funding decisions are expected in late November/early December.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The UK government works with public and private sector partners, both for-profit and not-for-profit (including faith-based organisations) as part of mixed health systems in developing countries, to support efforts to offer affordable, high quality health services, and to respond to COVID-19. The over-riding procurement policy applied by the FCDO in working with private providers is driven by ensuring value for money. Friends, the Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer have made clear, the Government will do whatever it takes to support people affected by COVID 19.</p><p>The Government has provided guidance on Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) for all employers, which includes specific information on when an employee is off work because of COVID-19. answer text <p>Broadcasting regulation is a matter for Ofcom, as the UK’s independent regulator of television and radio. Ofcom sets and enforces stringent standards for licensed broadcasters to meet in its Broadcasting Code. Broadcasters must provide adequate protection to UK audiences from harmful content, including any potential harm that might arise from misleading or inaccurate health advice.</p><p>In July 2020, Ofcom advised broadcasters to be alert to the potential for significant harm to audiences related to the coronavirus, including the accuracy or material misleadingness in programmes in relation to the coronavirus or public policy regarding it.</p><p>With regard to broadcast advertising, the Advertising Standards Authority enforces the UK Code of Broadcast Advertising (BCAP Code), through a system of co-regulation with Ofcom. The BCAP Code incorporates all relevant legislation, and sets standards for accuracy and honesty to which advertisers must adhere, including specific conditions intended to ensure that health claims in advertising receive the necessary high level of scrutiny and can be substantiated.</p><p><strong><p><p><br></strong></p>
