We are already exceeding our 2020 projections today, with over 13GW of solar capacity installed in the UK, enough to power over 3 million homes.</p><p> </p><p>I regularly discuss a range of issues with my rt. hon. Friend Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer. We have now reached agreement with the EU on an extension to the Article 50 period until 31 October at the latest, with the option to leave earlier as soon as a Withdrawal Agreement has been ratified.</p><p>Under the terms of the Withdrawal Agreement, there will be an implementation period running till the end of 2020, during which there will be no changes to the current trading arrangements with the EU. Therefore, if the Withdrawal Agreement is ratified, the supply of medicines will continue on the same basis it does now during this period.</p><p>Leaving without a deal remains the legal default at the end of the extension period if no Withdrawal Agreement is agreed. Therefore, as a responsible Government, we will continue to prepare to minimise any disruption to the supply of medicines and medical products in a potential ‘no deal’ scenario.</p><p>We are continuing to work with trade bodies and other stakeholders to review the position carefully before sharing further guidance at the earliest opportunity. Stockpiled medicines were not procured by the Department as part of our ‘no deal’ plans and remain the property of medicines suppliers. More recently I raised these issues on Friday 29 March in a letter to the Deputy Foreign Minister. Additionally the British High Commission in Bandar Seri Begawan regularly discusses the introduction of the Sharia Penal Code with the Government of Brunei.</p><p>We will continue to encourage and work with the Bruneian Government, as with many other countries, to remove corporal and capital punishment from their statutes. We will also urge them to take steps to decriminalise and pass laws to protect LGBT people from all forms of discrimination.</p><p>The UK believes in the right to live with dignity, free from violence or discrimination irrespective of a person's sexual orientation. The International community must uphold the universality of human rights; the criminalisation of same-sex relations is wrong.</p><p>The UK is committed to combating discrimination and violence against LGBT people throughout the Commonwealth and ensured that last year's Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting Communique included the most progressive language yet on LGBT rights, complimented by an historic speech from the Prime Minister, and backed up with major programme spending on gender equality and LGBT rights.</p><p>Foreign and Commonwealth Office travel advice has been updated to alert British citizens of the introduction of the new local laws in Brunei and we continue to lobby against the use of such punishments.</p> answering member constituency Cities of London and Westminster answering member printed Mark Field question first answered 02/04/2019 05:27:29 answering member 1405 label Biography information for Mark Field

Human rights issues are the responsibility of the FCO. The Minister of State for Asia and the Pacific raised UK concerns about hudud punishments during a visit to Brunei Darussalam in August 2018. More recently he raised these issues on Friday 29 March in a letter to the Deputy Foreign Minister. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/02/2019 answer text <p>This is a devolved matter so apart from the targets relating to emissions ceilings limits, which are already in statute, this answer applies to England only.</p><p> </p><p>In the Government’s Clean Air Strategy, published in January this year, we committed to setting a new, long-term target to reduce people’s exposure to fine particulate matter (PM<sub>2.5</sub>). We will publish a report this year examining what action would need to be taken to meet the World Health Organization’s (WHO) PM<sub>2.5</sub> annual mean guideline level of 10μg/m<sup>3</sup>. This will include analysis of the benefits to public health.</p><p> </p><p>We are the first major economy to set out ambitions based on the WHO’s PM<sub>2.5</sub> targets, and our Clean Air Strategy was welcomed by the WHO’s Director General as “an example for the rest of the world to follow.”</p><p> </p><p>The Strategy sets out the measures we will introduce to reduce emissions of PM<sub>2.5</sub>, resulting in a decrease in concentrations everywhere in the UK.
